Every vendor's paperwork, before you need it.
W-9s collected, insurance certificates current, 1099s ready in January. A free tracker for small businesses that pay contractors and vendors.
Three things that bite in January
All three are easy in March and painful the week 1099s are due.
Get it before the first payment
It gives you the vendor's taxpayer ID. If a vendor doesn't give you a correct one, the IRS can require you to withhold 24% from future payments.
Insurance that's still valid
A certificate of insurance shows a vendor is covered. Certificates expire, usually yearly, and nobody tells you.
Know who crosses the line
Pay a non-employee enough for services in a year and you file a 1099-NEC. The amount just changed.
The 1099 threshold just went up
For payments made after December 31, 2025, the IRS reporting threshold for 1099-NEC and most 1099-MISC payments is $2,000 per vendor per year, up from $600. The tracker uses the right number for the year you pick.
